The alternative
Without a gift registry of your own, your customer creates her wish list on an external platform - and that platform sends the purchases to some shop or other, usually the biggest one.
With the plugin your customers create gift registries in your shop and share them by link. Family and friends give straight from them: they can reserve a wish, nothing gets bought twice, and the address stays private. Every purchase stays in your shop.

A gift registry is not a comfort feature, it is a sales channel: one customer creates it, and 20, 50 or 100 guests buy from it - people who have never seen your shop before.
Nobody buys gifts in the clearance sale. Whoever gives from the list buys exactly the product wished for, at the regular price - no coupon hunting, no price comparison.
The list says what Anna really wants - in the right size, colour and quantity. That is the most effective brake on returns there is.
Every giver goes through your checkout, can follow the list and finds it in their account afterwards.
Wrapping, a greeting card, a ribbon - bookable as a gift option right on the wish.
Without a gift registry of your own, your customer creates her wish list on an external platform - and that platform sends the purchases to some shop or other, usually the biggest one.
The wizard in the customer account asks four steps: occasion, recipient, visibility, details. Only the name is required.
Open the link, pick a wish, give. A guest order is enough; reserving happens live so that nobody buys twice.
Every purchase from the list stays in your shop. The dashboard shows lists, upcoming occasions and gift revenue.
Anna creates the list (24 wishes).
The short link is on the invitation.
Aunt Erna reserves the espresso machine without buying it.
The first gifts go masked to Anna & Ben.
17 of 24 given. "Date approaching" had reminded them of the open wishes 14 days before.
Anna says thank you through the shop, without knowing a single e-mail address.
Without this, every guest gives to themselves and brings the parcel along. Here the owner decides per list: the gift goes straight to Anna & Ben at home - and the giver never sees the address, not in the order confirmation, not in the account, not in mails, not on the invoice. Shipping, ERP and the parcel service get it unchanged.
For whom: for yourself
A single list the customer keeps for themselves only - not even switched on in many shops. No sharing, no reserving, no giving.
For whom: for yourself, to show
Several named lists, public or private. They are shared to be looked at - the customer still has to buy themselves.
For whom: for the occasion, others give
Shared so that others buy: reservation, guest order without an account, a quantity ledger against double purchases, masked delivery to the owner.
Shopware's wishlist, a wishlist plugin, an external portal and this plugin in 37 rows →
A wish list shows wishes. A gift registry fulfils them.
The gift registry does everything the built-in wishlist and a wishlist plugin do - plus the purchase by others.
Every occasion theme brings its own colour to the list page - three of them ship with the plugin, moving in shows a theme created by hand.
You maintain occasion themes freely: name, colour, icon. Three are included - wedding, baby shower and birthday; further ones such as moving in or Christmas you create yourself with a name, colour and icon. The appearance of the list page is picked to suit your theme. Gift options can be tied to occasions: the baby shower gets different wrapping from the wedding.
All mails run through your shop's Flow Builder - each one adjustable on its own, none hard-wired.
Every reminder can be switched off on its own, the time windows are configurable, a double-send guard prevents repetitions, and every recipient can unsubscribe from all plugin mails for good through a link - without signing in.
A dashboard with active lists, upcoming occasions (30 days), open reservations, gift revenue and masked deliveries. Statistics in four tabs: revenue & success, owners & givers, products, occasions & themes - for 7, 30, 90 days or all time.
Every list has a review state: unreviewed, reviewed, reported, changed, blocked. A word filter with a starter list sends conspicuous lists to review instead of blocking them; visitors can report lists; blocked lists answer with a public 404. Every decision is logged. Reviewed lists only come back when something really changes.
Lists belong to the customers: you can look at every one of them, but not edit them. The customer and the order each carry a gift tab - the order tab holds the real recipient address for support.
The gift registry hands eight events to the Flow Builder: wish reserved, wish given, thank-you note sent and the five reminders. Every mail is a flow - the text, the condition and the timing are yours, and any further process is one click away.
The Rule Builder learns three extra conditions: gift registry in the cart, occasion theme and own gift. With them you steer shipping methods, payment methods, promotions and the visibility of gift options - without a line of code.
Installed from the Shopware store, the setup assistant walks through everything that wants deciding before the start, in ten steps - from purchase detection to the word filter. On the way it checks against the real shop whether the chosen order statuses even occur, and it brings sensible defaults with it.
Before uninstalling, the masking can be baked in permanently: the real recipient address is replaced by the placeholder, so that the protection stays without the plugin – how that works.
Set everything up and look at it. Customers create lists; delivery goes to the giver.
The list becomes visible in the shop: short link, password, own wishes, reserving.
The list as a tool: delivery to the owner, mails, appearance and reporting.
The fine control: thank-you notes, word filter, your own timings, conditions.
A gift registry - also called a wish list, a wedding registry or a Christmas list - is a list of wishes that the customer shares with family and friends by link. Unlike Shopware's built-in wishlist, the guests buy straight from it: a wish is reserved or given and is then no longer available. In Shopware this can be added with a plugin.
The wishlist Shopware ships (its German storefront calls it Merkzettel) is a list for yourself, not even switched on in many shops. A wishlist plugin allows several lists and sharing them to be looked at. A gift registry is shared so that others buy - with reservation, guest purchase without an account, a quantity ledger against double purchases and masked delivery. This plugin is a gift registry.
Not if the list delivers to the owner. Then only the display name with a placeholder appears instead of the address - in the order confirmation, in the account, in mails and on the invoice. Shipping, ERP and the parcel service get the real address. If the list delivers to the giver instead, the gift goes to their own address and they hand it over themselves. External payment providers receive only the postcode and town of the recipient out of the box, never the street.
Every wish keeps a quantity ledger: wished for, reserved, given. The cart checks against the live state on every recalculation - if a wish has meanwhile been fulfilled, the line is removed with a message, partly fulfilled ones are capped. Double purchases are ruled out.
A cancelled order returns the quantity to the list automatically - by default in the status "cancelled". A wish only counts as given once the order reaches the status "completed". You set both statuses in the setup assistant; an order in limbo holds the wish for 14 days (default), after which it becomes free again.
Yes. They see at any time which wishes are open, reserved or given. Whoever wants to keep the surprise switches this per list: the list, the notifications and the thank-you view then name only numbers and, as far as released, the names of the givers. Which wish it was, they see as soon as they switch the guard off again after the celebration.
Wedding, baby shower, birthday, Christmas and Secret Santa, moving in, christening, first day at school, stag and hen parties - and any occasion of your own. You create occasion themes yourself with a name, colour and icon; three are included. Depending on the range the focus follows by itself: homeware for the wedding registry, baby retail for the baby registry, toys for a children's birthday.
Yes: as a wish of their own with an external link, a trip or a donation for instance. Such wishes sit in a section of their own on the list and cannot be bought through the shop.
Through an unguessable link, optionally also through a readable short link under your domain such as your-shop.com/wishlist/anna-and-ben, whose last part the customer picks herself. Lists can be set to private or protected with a password; search engines never index them.
Yes. Every list has a review state, a word filter with a starter list sends conspicuous lists to review, visitors can report lists, and blocked lists are no longer reachable publicly. Every decision is logged. You cannot edit customer lists - they belong to the customers.
Notifications to the owner as soon as a wish has been ordered or given, five reminders (date approaching - 14 days before, reservation expiring - 48 hours before, reserved wish still open, thank-you reminder 3 days after the date, empty list after 3 days) and the thank-you note. All of them run through the Flow Builder and can be adjusted freely; an unsubscribe link takes recipients out of all plugin mails for good.
The list pages and the cart use the storefront standards of your theme. For the plugin's own accent it brings three storefront themes of its own: Standard in a calm brand blue, Ambient with a discreet violet accent and Spotlight with a strong teal accent - and every list can carry its own occasion theme on top of that. The checkout stays the Shopware checkout. External payment providers receive only the postcode and town of the recipient out of the box, never the street. All texts exist in German and English and can be adjusted through snippets.
Yes. Gifts run through the normal cart, vouchers and promotions work as with any other purchase. If you want to exclude gifts from a promotion, add the condition "gift registry in the cart" to the promotion's rule in the Rule Builder.
No. Lists, reservations and mails stay entirely in your shop. There is no cloud, no account with a third party and no passing on of data. Before uninstalling, the masking can be baked in permanently, so that the recipient addresses stay protected without the plugin as well.
Installed for free, run through the wizard, done.
